Anyone who is responsible for the running or maintaining of a public place such as a shop, office, leisure facility, road or pavement has a responsibility to make that place safe from accident and injury. However, public places aren't always as safe as they should be. If you've suffered personal injury in an accident that you think wasn't your fault, you may be entitled to compensation for your injuries and any losses. |
The person or organisation (eg, shop owner or local council) who owns the property in which or on which you have been injured will have public liability insurance to cover this.
You have 3 years from the date of your accident to make a personal injury claim but, to ensure that you have the best chance of success, we would urge you to do this as soon as possible after the accident.
