Road traffic accident
1) Record details of other driver, their vehicle and any witnesses
PRINT OUR INFORMATION SHEET and store it in the glove compartment of your car. This has all the information you need in the event of a road traffic accident. Keep a pen handy in your glove compartment at all times so that, in the event of a road accident, you can write the other driver's details on the sheet.
The other driver's registration number is the most important information we and will enable our specialist Solicitors to trace the driver if he/she provides you with incorrect details.
Get contact details of any witnesses to help support your claim, if it is safe to do so.
2) Take pictures of the scene of the accident and damage sustained to vehicles, if it is safe to do so.
If the accident happened on a motorway or on a busy road or junction, we would strongly advise that you stand in a safe place well out of the way of any oncoming traffic and wait for help to arrive.
Call CL Claims (contact number provided on our printable information sheet) and we will immediately arrange for a recovery truck to collect you and help you get back on the road.
IMPORTANT
If you've suffered any injuries, we would advise you to seek medical
attention immediately - we'll take care of the rest!
We'll arrange a replacement hire vehicle to be delivered to you (wherever you are), repairs to your vehicle and a Legal Representative to ensure that you get the maximum compensation you deserve for your pwersonal injury.
Other accidents - slip, trip and fall accidents in private and public places
Firstly, if the accident happened in a shop or any type of premises inform
a member of staff if you are able to do so and ensure that they record it
in their accident report book.
In relation to any type of slip, trip or fall, write down the contact details
of anyone who witnessed your accident.
If you have a mobile phone with a built in camera, take some pictures of the accident scene. If your mobile phone can't take photographs, purchase a disposable camera (keep receipts so you can include this in your claim).
Take pictures of the scene of accident (e.g, a defect in a pavement or a pothole). It is important for you to do this before the defect is repaired.
Finally, seek medical attention for any injuries you may have suffered!
